Kumamon Square’s 13th Anniversary ‘Fan Fest’ Drops Exclusive Merch on July 18

Kumamon Square’s 13th anniversary event, “Oshi-katsu Matsuri! ~Kumamon Sugite Metsu!~” (roughly: “Fan Frenzy! — Too Much Kumamon to Handle!”), is just around the corner — and to mark the occasion, a lineup of exclusive merchandise goes on sale on July 18. If you’re a Kumamon collector or just love picking up unique Kumamoto souvenirs, these are worth knowing about before they sell out.

“Oshi-katsu” (推し活) refers to the very Japanese hobby of actively supporting and collecting goods for your favourite character or idol — think fan merchandise, events, and cheering with purpose. The items below are designed with exactly that spirit in mind, so you can show your Kumamon love loud and proud at the venue.

Item Details Price (tax incl.)
Limited Full-Colour Face Towel (2 designs: A & B) 13th anniversary exclusive; wave it on stage to cheer Kumamon ¥1,800 each
Limited T-Shirt (2 designs: A & B) 13th anniversary exclusive; available in pink, black, and white — size L only ¥3,800 each
Limited Tin Magnet 13th anniversary exclusive commemorative magnet ¥700
Oshi-katsu Paper Fan (uchiwa, 2 designs: A & B) Not anniversary-limited, but a fan-fest staple — perfect for cheering ¥1,200 each

The T-shirts are only available in size L, so bear that in mind if you’re shopping for someone. All limited items are first-come, first-served, and the organizers are encouraging fans to grab theirs early. The anniversary event itself includes a special dress-up photo session with Kumamon, so pairing one of these T-shirts with a photo op could make for a memorable keepsake.

Kumamon Square is located in central Kumamoto City and is free to enter. Keep an eye on the official site for event-day details and any stock updates closer to July 18.
